Adderall and Beta blockers | ADHD Information

Hi Paperlady,

I am currently taking a beta-blocker, Proponanol (generic Inderal la), extended release, at 60mg.  I also have some short acting proponanol 10mg pills that I take instead of the long lasting ones some days.  I never really felt sluggish but then again sluggish is closer to my normal unmedicated self.  :)

I am also taking regular Adderall though, not xr, at 20mg 2 times a day.  I started the proponanol a couple of weeks before the Adderall so I haven't really been on the Adderall only.  But, I haven't experienced a racing heart and my focus is so much better than it was before Adderall I am not sure how much more focus I will notice losing the propononal.  The thing I worry about without the bblocker is anxiety symptoms. (ha ha, worrying about anxiety)  I do also have some oxazepam that I only take when my anxiety or stress level is too high and not coming down. I am my own pharmacy it seems....

Does anyuone have any experience with beta blockers and adderall xr?  Did it control the racing heart?  Did it affect your focus, organization (just because the bblockers can cause a bit of sluggishness??).

Thanks,

Paperlady
