does the dizziness get better | ADHD Information

Just a thought on the dizziness- how's she eating?  If she hasn't been eating much then she may be slightly dehydrated which can cause dizziness.  But if that's not the case then definetely talk to your doc.

As for the other stuff your best bet is to go see a therapist.  Even if the meds are what's causing the emotions to get extreme it looks like she is trying to figure out a terribly confusing situation.

My daughter has been on focalin XR 20 mg for about 2 weeks.  She says she gets dizzy and has to sit down alot.  I looked on the side effects and of course dizziness is one.  Thay say that it is not one to be concerned with.  I was wondering if it will get better as her body adjusts to the meds or if this is something she will just have to put up with.

Another thing is her emotions,  my daughter hasa had a time in her life that has been hard.  Long story short, at age 3 her now step brother "inappropriatly" touched her , that started a battle over their saftey.  There dad and his new wife were a tad verbally abusive when they would want to come home early from their visits,  Then when my13 yr old quit going, it was just my adhd daughter would go by herself, we found out that their father would watch her dress and undress and then found out that he and his new wife would shower with her at the same time.  Don't worry, It's been delt with.  My new  husband has adopted them and they do love each other , but she misses the "good times" with their dad.  She went through all that very emotion free.  Since she's been on the Focalin she is very emotional about her dad and every day life things.  Does this release the trauma from her young years with her dad and is finally having to deal with it, or just a side effect??

I think it's a side effect and one I personally wouldnt live with. There is no need for her to be dizzy every day or overly emotional. If she is always dizzy after 2 weeks, please ask about trying something else. How old is she? Who is doing her prescribing? Psychiatrist or pediatrician? Diane V39296.3559490741
