Adderal Ritalin or Stattera????IM STUCK | ADHD Information

yummypinkblobs- I take adderall and haven't had any problems with stomach upset....but it really varies from person to person.

I want to echo something  LifesADance said, medications work differently for different people.  It makes me cringe when I see someone give their experience as the only possible situaton for a drug.  If I had read and believed some of the things I have seen on this (and other) boards about Straterra I would never have tred it.  It''s been the best thing I ever did.  As long as I stay on the right schedule and take it as directed I am like a different person.  When I get off schedule I feel like I'm in a fog, and some of the side effects come back.  But thats ME, it may not be you.  You may not react ewell to it, or it may be the best thing since sliced bread (what was the best thing BEFORE sliced bread????)

My advice, TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR!!!!

hehe oh yeah...and I have tried both ritalin and adderall products....for me, the adderall works best. It is common for people to try one and if it doesn't work, typically they will respond better to "the other" or another med.

yes, you can take adderall and adderall xr together--i do! Strattera makes me sick! I'm afriad to take the stimulants
because they might give me bad intestinal trouble. Anyone with
this side effect? Does Adderall effect the tummy much?

About 2-3 years ago I started Concerta and got real jittery, so they switched me to Adderal XR, which was much better.  There were some side effects, a little buzziness maybe.  I took that for about a year and then stopped, some life changes and so forth.  The ADD symptoms started to bug me enough to talk to another doctor recently, so I started Strattera, and I was really looking forward to seeing how this new medication worked.  Although the web site promises little or no side effects, I can't help but notice some edginess and irritability, and I'm only taking 20 mg to start.  I'm a 6'5" guy so I figure they'll be shooting for the 60 mg max eventually?  Has anyone experienced this, and should I stick with it and ride out the side effects or should I just go back to life without meds?   

Has anyone had bad results from ritalin and switched to adderall or

statttera and had good results? Is it possible to respond to one medication for ADD

and not others? I am currently taking Concerta and I don't think its

working, plus the side effects are killing me. I did not take Concerta

this morning and I feel so much better. Should I stop taking the pills till

my next appt with my doc? PLEASE HELP

 

 

Well, strattera is out of the question for you I think, its not a stim and it has too many side effects and not enough good effects. I would suggest you try Adderall XR.

For me, I have received better effects from Straterra than I have from the stimulant medications.  While Straterra has some initial side effects that are often only transient, I have noticed a much calmer mind with this as compared to Adderall or Ritalin. 

Of course, everyone will react differently to the different meds.  It is really a matter of trial and error with a good physician to find the right med, or mix of meds, that works best for you.

Can you take adderall XR and regualr adderall together?
