We live in the No. California delta area. "Pear capital of the world"... or used to be. Now with all the fruit being imported from Argentina, Chile, etc. It hurts to be a US farmer because their fruit is entering the US market earlier and at lower costs, but the fruit is lower quality too. My husband farms about 500 acres total, 350 or so is our property, the rest he's hired to do. A lot of farmers are pulling out their orchards. Planting grapes or cherries. Ya gotta be big or not at all. We're trying.
Maybe the recent problems we're having with China's imports might open up the eyes of some of our government wonders...
Anyway, if you're raised in CA, you're used to the goofy laws and government issues. But during the last 5 years, the real estate market has just gotten absolutely ludicrous. E.g. a 1200 sq.ft. house in a non-desireable area now goes for about 300k. So of course now there's a flood of bank foreclosures and fire sales. Thankfully we're settled, and then some. And we love it out here. Great place to raise the kids, but farming sucks. But my husband loves the work so we'll see how long we'll give it.
My girls love blueberries. VERY good for you!
Have a great weekend.
lol. Riveting topic indeed. Well, i am glad you brought up the subject because about a week ago I almost posted about it but wasn't quite sure how to bring it up. :) Water took care of it.
I try to take a 2 or 3 day break every other week or so.
I used to take my meds only about 3 days a week, 30 mgs or less p/day. But I've been taking it daily for about 6 months now, which is obviously much more than before. Unfortunately I think I'm dependent on it and it has become more difficult for me to take the med holidays.
Nevertheless, I know what I need to do. I just wondered if this is a normal side affect. I'm going out of town this weekend and plan to keep my meds at home. So I'll see what happens. (Think I'll take some correctol just in case)
I will drink more water as I know that should help, and I'll start eating more fruit as well which should be easy as we live on a pear ranch (hence the name) and we're at the end of our picking/packing season as of today. We also grow apples, pluots, oranges, cherries, etc. but not commercially. We like to have something ripe at different times during the year. We even have an amazing avacado tree. Produces fabulous avacados from November until about April unless it freezes.
Anyway, now I'm way off topic. But I appreciate your response. I might report back after this weekend - not that this is a riviting topic!
Thanks again!
Is this wonderful affliction a normal "withdrawl" side effect of Adderall? I take between 30 & 45 mg's of fast release Adderall a day. Sometimes I want to take a few days off to keep my tollerance level in check. However, the last time I took a drug holiday, my entire "constitution system" was a mess, complete with major stomach cramps and bloating. But during this same week I was experiencing this problem, a neighbor of ours had the stomach flu.
Maybe I had a touch of both??
Is having constipation typical when abstaining from the medication?
Thanks.
