there is another thread on Vyvanse where a woman felt her son was hallucinating on Vyvanse. Skin picking is a compulsive behavior that can be exacerbated by stimulants.
I agree, call your doctor.
My daughter has been on Vyvanse for 10 days. Yesterday (Sunday) we were at church and I noticed that she was looking at her hands and her feet. I am journaling all of her behavior on this medication so I will copy/paste from the journal: (Needless to say tomorrow I am not going to give it to her and call the dr. first thing in the morning.
Does anyone else know about hallucinating or anything?
(Sunday)At church today, I noticed that she kept looking at her fingers and her feet. This went on for an ENTIRE hour and a half. I asked her what she was doing. She said that she saw hair in her hands and she was trying to get it off. It looked as though she was picking hair off her hands. She was so entranced in what she was doing, she didn’t even move the entire time. It was like she was obsessed about it. I asked Jinny to take her to wash her hands and she still kept doing it. It was the weirdest thing…almost like she was hallucinating.
(Monday)She is still obsessing about the “hair” on her hands and feet. I asked her to please tell me what she sees on her hands. She said her hands look like the hair on her head, that there is hair all over her hands and in between her fingers. I showed her my hand and asked if she could see hair on my hands. She said no. I told her that my hands looked the same as hers…they didn’t have any hair on them. She just kept telling me that yes there was hair on her hands and she always acts as if she is picking it off…just totally obsessed with it.
i have read that some adhd meds can cause adverse reactions like hallucination. i would definately call her dr and switch her to another medication that she can tolerate better.
