GED instead of High School

Has anyone else put their child into GED classes, instead of finishing High School?

My son is 16 and we are now going this route.  He had an awful time in school, not only does he have poor social skills, but our schools are riddled with gangs. Private schools are out of the question, the ones that would take him are $10,000 a year or more.  I would love to hear from anyone who has had or is currenly dealing with a GED class.

hmm

sometimes ged adult classes have those same people in them.

but over all i dont see the harm in it .  at 16  getting a job  and developing a work ethic is also a worthy path. i for say thumbs up  if he actually does the school lessons  find an online class he can participate with too
