Do you think he is pulling it out of anxiety and has not idea he is doing it?
My son has been on concerta for the past 4 years and has grown a lot. He is 5 ft tall and 100 lbs, he is 10. It took a while for his body to adjust to the meds then he took off again with his growth.
We have had none of this as a side effect from concerta.
He also takes guanfacine for overstimulation.
I have a question. Do you think he is pulling it? The reason I ask is my daughter, on Concerta last year, started pulling out her eyelashes and eyebrows, it's called trichotillomania. It was AWFUL. We stopped the stimulant meds and she stopped doing it...............he may not tell you he is doing it, he may not even realize he is doing it. My daughters doctor said they do not even know they are doing it. They do it due to "internal restlessness" during times of boredom/quiet. Watching tv, during class lectures, reading.....etc. It seems it has coincided with the Concerta increase which is another reason I ask. In her case it was 100% due to the stimulant.
