I was taking anywhere from 20 to 80 mg of Fluoxetine (generic prozac) for three years. After a year or so I developed a tremor in my hands. I definitiely attributed this to the meds.
I was also informed by my girlfriend at the time that I would regularly jerk my limbs and have what resembled small siezures lasting up to 20 seconds throughout the night. They bothered her so much that I went to a nuerologist and was diagnosed with periodic limb movement disorder.....PLMD isn't something that happens to you out of the blue and since a) it began happening at around the same time as the tremor in my hands and b) my ex-wife of 5 years never complained about any 'tics' or 'tremling' during the night, I have always felt that it was in someway related to the Fluoxetine.....
Here's the kicker....and I don't know if its going to help you or confuse you even more: even though I attribute both of these symptoms to Fluoxetine, when I stopped taking it (2 years ago), both got a little better but neither went away completely. Thus, I can only conclude that it either wasn't the meds in the first place, or they caused some sort of permanent damage.
I'd also love to hear from anyone else with similar experiences.
Has anyone tried prozac and deveoped tics? How much were you taking and how long were you taking it? What kind of tics did you experience?
