I really need your opinions please | ADHD Information

Hi Everyone,

As you all know, I have ADD. Well, I just found out that I am moving from Virginia to South Carolina with my husband's job, he is in the military.

Well, I have a HUGE house and A LOT of stuff that I need to go through and get rid of before moving. TONS of things actually that need to be organized, and given to charity or thrown out. And also, before I put my house on the market, it needs a little work. I have repairs that I have to do, as well as we have decided to do some upgrades to our house before we put it on the market ie: new hardwood floors, new kitchen counter tops, all new light fixtures, new fresh paint etc... Well I have to do most of the work myself since my husband works so much, and we don't have the money right now to hire anyone. We just have enough for the supplies etc...We can do the work ourselves.  The reason that we have to do all these upgrades BEFORE we move, is because houses in our area are NOT selling at all. In fact, there are 30 houses on the market in my neighborhood that have been on the market a long time. No one is buying houses these days, and we have to move in 3 months!! So we need to entice buyers to want to buy our home over all the other homes in the area. So, I have a lot of work to do, and I have a 2 year old son and a 4 year old daughter on top of that, getting anything done with them around is nearly impossible. And I have ADD. Go figure, nothing is going to get done. So, I want to get back on Adderall, it's the only time in my life that I can focus on a project, do it, and FINISH IT. My doctor took me off of it in May because I was drinking beer. WEll, I have not had a drink at all since May. But she still won't put me back on it. So, my question is this, how can I go to another doctor and get it, without them requesting my medical records from my previous psych doctor? Like what should I say, and I am a terrible liar, not very good at it. But at this point I just don't have many options. I have severe ADD, I can't seem to get anything done at all, and I have to move ASAP. How does a 35 year old woman and mother just walk into a new doctors office and say" I Have ADD and I need Adderal" without them thinking I'm some looney drug addict? I am on Strattera for my ADD right now, and it's a joke, it's no different to me than taking Wellabutrin for my ADD, it just doesn't work. Now I am left feeling depressed, sad, tired and stressed out, looking at this huge mound of things I have to do, and not even knowing where to start around this house to get things done.

Need any ideas please.  Please no criticism. I do that to myself enough everyday.

I would not go to a new doctor. That would probably send up a red flag. Have you tried going back to the original doctor and explaining the situation, telling them that you haven't had anything to drink?  I don't really have any experience

with it.  Other than a few wine coolers every now and then, I don't drink, and I have been taking adderall 9 weeks and haven't drank anything since. Although, my doctor didn't tell me not too. Family members are prone to drinking problems and alcoholism. I have seen it since I was a kid and never wanted to go down that road so I avoided it altogether.  Have you given your doc indication you have a drinking problem?  Maybe that is why he will not give you the adderall back.

That would be my only suggestion.
