ADHD child not sleeping...Clonidine | ADHD Information

what time do you give the Vyvanse? I would also try to give it as early as you can. Even if you have to wake him up to take it and he goes back to sleep for an hour or so.

My son has had problems sleeping and with school starting I want to help him.  The Dr prescribed 1/2 of a .1 mg tablet of  Clonidine.  Does anyone else use this?  It seemed to work the first night.  The second night....not much help.  i am going to wait a few more nights to see if it works.  I was wondering about upping the dose.  I will call the Dr first.  Any insight from you guys would be a great help.  BTW, my son switched to Vyvanse a month age.  All seems will except the lack of sleep.

thanks

Why not try Melatonin? It  might work better.

I give 2.5 mg of melotonium at 8 pm  and Dylan finallly falls asleep around 1000.  Try it I just feel he is still a little guy and i did not want to give him another med.  The melotonium is totally natural.  Now when schools starts he will get the Vyvanse at 7 am and the melotonium at 7 pm.  He sleeps so good with it.  Try it.

My son takes a full Clonidine at night (0.1 mg.).

It was extremely helpful when he was on the Focalin XR.

When we changed to Ritalin LA, it seems that it takes him a little longer to
fall asleep (up to an hour as opposed to 20 minutes.)

We also give 1/2 of a Clonidine pill at 4 p.m. as that is when his stimulant is
wearing off and it keeps him fairly calm until close to bedtime.
