Hello! Well I took my son back to a different psychologist for a reevaluation. The results aren't in yet but his medication was upped from 10mg to 20mg of metadate because his teacher said that it seemed like it was 'wearing off' about lunch time.  We had a really hard first couple of days, especailly Saturday. He cried for 12 hours straight. He wouldn't clean his room, I made it clear to him that he had 1 hour to get his room clean and if he didn't get it done then his toys would be removed from his room because we had asked him to clean it for two days. He decided to sit on the couch and watch TV and ignore me. So, when the hour passed (I even warned him that time was ticking down), I gave him a garbage bag, physically put him in his room and made him put all his toys in the bags. All he kept screaming was 'I just want one more chance'.. well honey, you had a dozen.. YOU decided you didn't want to clean it up so YOU decided that your toys will be taken away. I wanted to give in to stop the crying, but I stuck to my guns. He seriously cried for 12 hours.. He & I were both emotionally drained. I told him he could earn his toys back by listening and doing what is asked of him the first time.

It was worth it though.. I woke up Sunday morning with hugs and kisses and a 'I'm sorry for the way I acted yesterday". He was an ANGEL yesterday. We went out to lunch, we had to wait 30 minutes on a table and he just sat there. No running and screaming, just sat there. Then when we got inside we were there for nearly 2 more hours and he ate his food and colored on some sheets they had, practiced writing his name in cursive, and we did not have to speak to him not ONE time!! It was pure heaven!!!

We go back to the psychologist on Tuesday and hopefully the doctor will have some answers.

Good for you! Unfortunately sometimes it's a matter of "winning the battle of wills". They need reminding who's in charge .

I am so glad to hear you guys are getting positive results!! The room thing is soooooo familiar, and the second chance is exactly what my DD would say over and over again (still does). I hope thing continue to go well.
