Whats the highest dose of Ritalin?Only one's Doctor can tell you how much is too much. My son used to take over 120mg of Ritalin per day. That amount could have been increased as well, but the Daytrana patch came out and we opted to try that instead. The amount is based on a personal judgment call from your doctor. He/ she will make that determination based on the patients weight, age and severity of the ADHD. Tracy
I use 188 mg of Ritalin -- four quick release, three Concerta. I have a sister who uses 240 mg per day. the PDR says that the maximum daily dose for Ritalin is 60 mg. That is outdated information. Before 1990, the maximum dose of Ritalin for adults was 0.0 mg per day, because it was believed that everyone who had ADHD outgrew it in adolescence. None of the other sources give a maximum amount, although doctors are loath to prescribe larger doses. I really hate ignorance, when it deprives me and my loved ones of our life. How many of y'all are using over 120 (or over 200) mg per day of Ritalin?
Is there any normal dosage of Concerta or Ritali? I am only on 30-40mg depending on the day. BUt there again, if your doctor thinks this is the right dose im sure you're fine. Everybody is different and everyone has a different tolerance, Don'tcompare your dosage to anyone else, however, if you feel that you may be taking too much.... it never hurts to get a second evalution from another doctor.
