If you can help your child with her organization skills, that is a big plus. When you give her directions, brek them down. For example, don't tell her to clean her room. It is too overwhelming. Brek it down, to put all of your books away, put your toys away ,etc.
As for the coofee, nix tha idea. Coffe , though a stimulant, is a dirty drug. It is very addictive . One needs more and more just to get the same effect. I would wait and see what the doctor suggests.
How old is your child?I give my six year old Omega 3s - the dosage on the box says it's fine for children from below two years. He takes Early Learning Factor. Just check the box you buy for dosage, but after all it's only oil from fish really which is naturally available in diet (when they haven't removed it and called it low fat, but that's a whole other issue!)
I agree to start with the Omegas. I also give them to my daughter and take it myself. Please rememebr it takes several months to see any effect. It will not interact with meds if you do end up with a diagnosis and decide to use prescription meds. Diane V39325.0785532407I give both my 5 year old and my 7 year old Omega-3 pills. My 7 year old is the mild ADHD and it took about 3 weeks to see the effect last Spring. I didn't really notice anything but his teacher said he was like a different kid at school. At that point he wasn't taking magnesium but I added that to both their daily vitamin routine over the summer and I have heard some good things about DS at school.
