I've recently just started 4 days ago on Adderall XR 30mg once daily taken in the morning. I like it a lot better than the Concerta 54mg I was taking. I'm only 5 feet 1 inch and weigh 108 pounds and am 21 years of age in college. Adderall last me from 9am-9pm, but during those hours I have COMPLETE loss of appetite and when I force my self to eat a little something it is very difficult. Does this ever go away after building up a tolerance to the medicine? How long does adderall usually last during other people's day? Do you think that the doctor has prescriped too many milligrams for my weight?
No reason you cnat try taking less and see if it helps with your symptoms with less side effect. Generally it is started low and increased incrementally until a dose that relievs symptoms with minimal or no side effects is reached.

My son has only been on it for a little over a week (started 5 mg, then upped to 10 mg last two days). First few days he had no appetite at all, but it is gradually getting better!! thanks guys! I have an appointment with my doctor on Tueday about the symptoms. I'm just hopeing that maybe a lower dosage would better or that these side affects soon end. Is there anyway to kind of cope with the loss of appetite? The dry mouth doesn't bother me that much cause I just have a bottle of water with me. I'm more concerned about the loss of appetite and being prescribed too much. Most seem to have started a low dosage but for some reason he put me straight away on the 30mg.my best suuggestion for appetite is eat a very high calorie breakfast, before your meds and a high calorie dinner when they wear off. 12 hours is a long time for Adderall, may be tough to get two big meals beofre and after, but at least try for a big high calorie breakfast, dinner and then maybe a late night snack,
like an ice cream sundae .
