Out of Private School into Public | ADHD Information

Hi - I come here often and read stories and am amazed there is others like me.  My daughter (Nicole) is 8; she was diagnosed at 5 years of age with ADHD.  Many trials and medications later - she is taking 5mg Ritalin with 20mg of Adderrell.  The private school tolerated her these few years and last year she had a WONDERFUL teacher who would see her in first grade and could not wait to have her in her class.  Nicole did very well with her not perfect but felt loved and welcomed.   A few times I was called just to move her from one room to the other since they can’t touch her.  So this year 3rd grade, 2 weeks into private school, I’ve had to go up there to meet the principal and teacher, phone call with the teacher and pick her up to take her home 2x during the day.  Yesterday she started the private school at 8:00AM and by 8:30 they had decided to send her home.  She acts out, gets mad about something and throws things or turns off lights - run in and out of the class room - wont sit down etc.  So I decided I would not put her or us through another year of this school treating her like this.  So we transferred her yesterday and she started public today.  I had to sit with her the first 30 min and thought she was doing well.  The school just called and said she is having a bad time.  She is eating crayons, throwing things - not cooperating.  I am at a loss.  I know there is some transition time but what can I do to help her?  The school will open a case study for her tomorrow and we'll go from there but I don't know why she acts like this.  She has an appointment tomorrow with a counselor requested by her doctor.  And we'll go from there I guess.  I just wish I knew that I was on the right path. I feel like everyone is looking at me like this has never happened before.  Like shouldn’t these people have suggestions?  The doctors, the schools? Why do I feel like the only parent with an ADHD possibly something else child?
