A good teacher | ADHD Information
Same here!
Will's 2nd grade teacher has been so sweet! Before we went back to the dr two weeks ago, I emailed to ask her if she had any input for the dr, since she is with him for the better part of the day. She replied with the sweetest email that just made me cry. She said she enjoys Will, that he is so smart and funny and she is glad to have him.
She tells me to call her at home anytime, knowing she has an infant!
I am just SO proud to have her and Will loves her too!
Unfortunately, the "love" didn't get him thru his tests today. But that's another story.
just another tip we use email, codys sped teacher as well as his 2nd grade teacher email me everyday and through out the day to let me know how he is doing it makes cody know that i will know everything lol. friday the sped teacher started having cody email me from her computer.....it is cute he goes i behaved today and i love you...and then i always respond that is fantastic and i will see you soon love you too :-) this ways he knows that we keep in contact at all times...so he cant get away with anything :-) that is awesome doesnt it feel so wonderful to know that someone is on your side and willing to help!! I am also very grateful to our school system and all that they have done for cody.My ADHD 2nd grader has the best teacher this year! We have had consistently good luck with teachers at this school with dealing with DD's ADHD but this one is so wonderful. First of all, I am scheduled for major surgery on Tues and have been so stressed so she set time aside in her schedule for me to see her for a parent/teacher conference today, even though I know with it being only the second wk of school she is very busy. She asked me about what Ashley has difficulties with and how she can help her best to learn in the classroom with her hyperactivity (her new med is starting to work but we are still tweaking it so she is having issues w/ the H).
She told me not to worry about a thing, and that she will be working especially hard with Ashley on the things she needs help with and that she thinks she is so sweet and is glad to have her in her class this year. I guess she knew Ash last year and said she sees a big difference in terms of her social skills and her emotional outbursts (she was always crying on the Adderall). She is just so wonderful. I know you all can relate, every year I worry that she will get someone who just thinks she is a 'bad case' and not see the good in her. It's just such a relief with all I have on my plate lately that we were blessed with a good teacher.

I am happy for you and your daughter.
I am so happy for you and your daughter! My son has a wonderful teacher this year as well (not like last year) and is very accomadating to him and us(I am disabled). It really makes a difference! Yesterday he spit out his meds in the am and even though she said she noticed the difference it was managable and don't worry about it. Sure makes it nicer!
