Hi, I have been on regular Adderall before and I loved it. I could take one in the morning, and be so focused enough to get a lot of things done around here. But noon it would wear off and I would take another one (eat lunch) and be back to working again, very efficiently.
However, now (I finally found a doctor to give me adderall again) he gave me 20mg of the Adderall XR. I find that it just isn't as effective as the fast acting adderall. Not nearly as effective in my opinion, on me at least.
Anyone else experience this?
Oh, and I too have been biting my nails again on Adderall. It's the strangest thing, I won't bit my nails. Then I take adderall and I bit my nails, and the skin around my finger nails, I just cannot stop. I wonder why adderall makes one do this to oneself?
stimulants can increase anxiety and "internal restlessness" , that is probably the reason for the nail biting.Well, XR is smoother. If you are looking for the "speedy" feeling the non
I noticed the difference in the tablets when Barr started manufacturing them ...really no effect .When Shire was making them ..they were the best . Now taking the xr and doesn't come close .I think I'll try flying king's way and take the pellets out of the capsule ..seems like a bright idea !!! Thanks
bharrod, I think the 20 mg Adderall XR is a common "starting dose" for adults, as it is supposed to give you an even 10 mg effect over an extended period of time (equivalent supposedly of taking two 10 mg. tabs of adderall IR about 5 hours apart). Sooo.... your doc may be waiting to hear from you at your next visit how it went. If you report that its not addressing your major ADHD traits, then your doc may up the dose of the XR and see how that goes. If you used to get good results with a 10 mg dose of IR, it seems like 20 mg of XR should work for you, but there are numerous reports from folks using this board who found XR to be much different--some like it better, some find it not as effective...
does anyone know if the name brand adderall 30mg IR tablets are any good?
