Hello i have adhd | ADHD Information
I have ADHD and it is the combined type and it is mild case. I was diagnosed in february 2001. In February 2001, I was put on concerta from feb.-march.I was taken off the medicine because my eyes rolled behind my head.
Then in march 2001-april 2004 I was on adderall. I kept telling that it was like i was taken nothing and started noticing my tolerance in 2002. But the tolerance got worse and in 2003 but i will say in 2001 the medicine was working 100%.
In 2002 the medicine was working 65-75 %.
In 2003 the medicine was working 25-50 %
In 2004 the medicine was working 10-25 %.
I then was off medicine for a couple months because doctor went on vacation.
In 2004 of april i asked to try ritalin and it was a miracle because It changed me and i started doing better in school. I notice my brain cleared and i stop have million thoughts all at once and finally had a off switch and My adhd affected my life severely.
I am in behavior therapy and doing better and i have my next session on next thursday.
I also have other special needs that are mild mental retardation,adhd,ptsd,panic disorder,deafness,communication disorder that is expressive and receptive speech and language disorder,dyspraxia,sensory integration disorder.
I wear hearing aids in both ears and wear glasses that got in 2000 or 2001.
I take risperdal for nightmares and that is all i know i was told it was for to help me.
I take clondine for adhd at night.
I take ritalin for adhd.
I take zoloft for ptsd,depression,panic disorder.
risperdal 0.25 mgs at night
ritalin 20 mgs 3 times a day.
zoloft 100 mgs 1 time a day
clondine 0.1 mgs at night.
Welcome to the board! I'm glad you found it. It also sounds like your medicines are working well for you now.
I'm curious about one thing. During the time that you developed a tolerance to adderrall, did the dr. ever increase your dose? Sometimes that's necessary as your body develops a tolerance, so then you need more to see the same effects.

I look forward to reading your posts. I have a feeling you have a lot to teach us! I also think you are really smart.
My son is 10 and doesn't talk much about ADHD or his meds except that they make him mellow. So to read your posts and what you will teach us will be great.
My son also has a speech delay and sensory. His sensory has really improved to the point that it isn't really there. At times something will come out or be said and I'll think, "oh that must be your sensory" I believe my son's speech is more due with the sensory of his mouth with the tongue and teeth sensation, than anything else. Sensory really mimics ADHD signs like so many others.
