Free IEP Advocate | ADHD Information

Share
I just hired an advocate, but she is far from free. Try your department of education they may have a link to a directory of advocates.

The free ones are usually parent advocates. Parents with children in special education who know the ropes. Look under parent resource center or parent special education network or parent special education support group. Look trainings or seminars or workshops offered to educate parents on IEPs or special education services or advocating.

I ran a quick search and found a couple. See below. These are the types of places that you need to call and start asking around. They may not have parent advocates, but they usually know who does:

I have heard from a couple of places that you can get a free IEP advocate that will come to the meetings at the school with you. I live in Los Angeles area and can only find PAID Attorneys. Does anyone know of this or where to look? I have "googled" myself to death already.
