Site rules intended to make the message boards an enjoyable place for everyone to get together without fear of being offended or ridiculed:

 

1. The Admins and Mods are to be shown proper respect: We are not infallible.  We will make mistakes from time to time, but to call out your VOLUNTEER staff for a public lynching is a NO-NO.  This will not stand.  Threads that call out the staff harshly will most likely end poorly for the member who started the thread.  Take it to PM.  That is the appropriate place to voice concerns more often than not.  We realize that this is not always the case, but use the PM when you can.  If you need support then rally the troops, but do not shake the rafters.  Be respectful towards us and know that we will be respectful towards you.

 

2. Post in the Correct Forum: Folks, there are forums with specific forum headings.  Use them. 

If you continually post in the wrong section you will be warned, suspended and possibly banned.  We are not housekeepers and do not appreciate having to move your posts to where they belong every day.  There are some big time repeat offenders in this.

Red arrows are no longer.  Posts will simply be moved to the correct section.  YOU KNOW when you post where they should be for the most part so look for them there.

It is your choice whether a post stays or goes because a mod may delete it rather than move it if it is deemed a blatant disregard of the rules.

3. No Graphic pictures or profanity - Use your better judgment on what is appropriate.  If you question the content of what you are posting, then it is probably not appropriate to post. If the administration determines that a post is in violation of the rules the post will be removed without notice

4. No sexual content- if you have something of a sexual nature to discuss with your friends, please use PMs or IM with them. Not everyone enjoys that type of discussion and no one should be forced to wade through posts trying to determine which are acceptable.

5. Please treat others with respect- everyone disagrees with someone else from time to time but please try to do so in a manner which doesn't demean them or their beliefs.  If there is a personal issue that is unresolved, please pm or IM to resolve the issue.  If there is a personal attack on the public boards the threads will be deleted immediately with out notice.  And the members involved will be reported.

6.  No one has the right to use any one's real name or information on any board for any reason.  The boards are set up to have a user name.  It is up to each user to give out their own personal information.  Even if you know a person's personal information, that gives you no right to use it publicly.  If a real name or other personal information is used, threads will be deleted with out warning and with out justification.  Privacy is a right and a privilege. 

7..  There is to be no advertising on this forum or posting of links to other websites that have advertisements to sell goods or promote other message boards. People come here for support and to share experiences.  If every one was allowed to advertise on this forum, this would not be a support forum.  It is considered spamming and spamming is not permitted.  There are many parents here in need of information and advertising is not needed.  Offering advise is permitted and if you have found a product that has helped you and your family, feel free to pm a member, but do not post it publicly.

Our support boards are intended to be for support of ADHD and other learning disabilities.  We are striving to make this board a soft, safe place to fall for people affected by ADHD to come and share experiences and get advice and learn from each other.  This community is full of loving people that are here to help.  Enjoy this board, but please respect the rules.
