Concerta dosage - too high? | ADHD Information

I can't seem to find info on this elsewhere, so I'll go ahead and ask... :)

I just re-started Concerta after taking nothing for 5/6 years. We started back at the dose I was last taking, 36 mg. Today was my first day on the medication...
Anyway, for the first 2 hours I was hyperfocused. I got a ton of work done, and things seemed great. After that, however, the inattentive symptoms returned a little worse than usual, and the hyperactive symptoms came back much worse than usual.
Does this indicate too high a dose?
Should I keep taking it for a few more days, to see if my body settles down and accepts it better; if so, how long?

Thanks guys,
Mike~
yes I have noticed with my daughter her inattentivenss and fidgeting are significant when her doses have been too low or too high. 36mg of Concerta isnt a huge dose, and if it's only been one day you may wnat to give it a bit more time, especially if you're not having any other side effects.

I agree with Diane about giving it a few days to see if it settles down. Then you can probably better judge if the dose is too high or low.

Docs are now recommending for most of thier patients to not skip weekends because of the issues with the body adjusting with each start and stop. It can take a couple of days to re-adjust and then you stop again, this can cause a med to seem like it is not working. This would also be the case if you are sensitive to the meds and start at a higher dose and do not titrate up to your most effective dose like when you first start taking meds.
