For the past two weeks my son's teacher informed me that his focusing/hyperactivaty is a little out of control. He is still on Risperdal/Clodine. He has been on the same dose for a year now. He has grown about 10 inches and 14 lbs since the medicine. Could the medicine not be working anymore? Also, the caferteria teachers say he only takes a couple of bites of his food and throws it away (both breakfast and lunch), he does not seem to be eating a whole lot here at home either. He was always a picky bird eater though. Is there something I should tell his doctor about. He see's a special doctor regarding his medicine in Oct.
Thank you I will mention it to his doctor in october.Yes, it could be that his meds need to be adjusted. When you see the doctor in Oct, mention to him or her what the teachers and cafeteria workers have observed. After seeing the doctor, make another appointment for 6-8 wks later for a check-up. Your child's doctor needs to know if the meds he or she prescribes are working to produce the greatest benefits.
