My son (5) is on Adderall and we were having soem serious issues with aggression and anger. He was not our normal Tyler. Our Dr suggested that we add Repserdal 1mg a day to help. We noticed there was change, but we were still getting some outbursts. And the ones we were getting were pretty severe. So, our Dr suggested we up the dose another .5mg. So, Tyler is on 7.5mg of Adderall and 1.5 mg og Resperdal and we are very pleased. He is happy and still is able to focus in the classroom.
Tyler did gain about 4 pounds the first month, but that has slowed now. However, he was VERY thin to begin with, so we were happy with weight gain here. I hope things smooth out for you soon.
The best of luck.
Hi there. I am new to the board. My 7 year old was diagnosed ADHD/Aspergers Syndrome. We have been working for more than a year to adjust his medication to control his hyperactivity so he can do well in school. We finally got him on a good dose of Concerta, but the psychiatrist recommended Risperdal in the afternoons. Well now we are having problems with tantrums, throwing things, being mouthy, not normal Joey. Has anyone else had these type of problems with Risperdal. He's on a fairly low dose, just 1 mg a day. But it has affected his appetite also. The concerta keeps him from being hungry all day, and then the Risperdal makes it so that he is starving. He already is a little overweight for his age, so this is a side effect I can do without. I am wondering though what side effects others have seen.
Thanks
