I am a 43 year old male. At the age of 41 I received my first stint, I am now up to three. I have been ADD since I was a child and just recently started to receive treatment. My ADD has destroyed my marriage my career........
Anyhow, My Dr. put me on 80mg of Strattera. I have been on it for about three weeks and really do not see any results (other than being tired). What other meds can a person take that has had heart problems in the past?
Thanks
Antidepressants are a second line of treatment that helps some. Guanfacine and clonidine are also a second line of treatment, or added to augment other meds. Here is a med chart with many of the available options (it is a little old so does not have the newer meds):

JimP , I'm sure that's common for ADHD.
Have you been taking the 80 mg for six straight weeks? Meaning, six weeks at that dosage?
He should have ramped you from 25 mg to 40 mg to 80 mg. Did he? After 2 to 4 additional weeks, the dose may be increased to a maximum of 100 mg in patients who have not achieved an optimal response. You need to be at your target dose for four weeks to see optimal results. Have you given it the adequate amount of time?I started at 40mg for one week then moved up to 80 mg. When I read I really do not remember anything I am reading two sentances later. Is that common?
Thanks for all the help.
I am also on 15mg of Lexapro. I have been on that for about two and half weeks. It does help with the depression, but does not help with the social anxiety.
