Trent saw dr today | ADHD Information

He didn't do a cat scan. He said that normally when someone has a serious head injury that they have more severe problems soon after, but no 2 cases are the same, none the less he wants to send him to see a pediatric neurologist. He then wrote on the paper that the dx was 2nd opinion to r/o developmental delays noticed by parents/teacher. Which kinda annoys me. But hey at least he's getting seen I guess.

So then instead of sending us to St Louis which is closer to me by an hour to cardinal glennon or childrens hospital they are sending us to springfield illinois which is over an hour further from me.

Anyway so then while in there, I am playing with my son and we are looking at letters and i'm trying to help him out, so I notice a calendar hanging on the wall that has bold big print letters medicare so i start asking him what each letter is and he is almost nose to calendar looking at them. so i ask, could eye problems cause him trouble with letter recognition? he said why? so i told him and they took him down the hall and had him do the picture eye exam. He could only tell them what the first 3 lines were and he missed one. but i think it might have been just because he didn't know what to call it, but i could be wrong. then on the 4th line he only got 1 right and the 5th line none right and the 6th line he couldn't see. So then the nurse comes in tells us we are giong to see a dr on oct 31st in springfield. thats it. so i said well how did he do on his eyes and she said well he didn't do so well, and he's worried so he wants him to see a pediatric opthamologist. thats the end of that. they'll research and find me one and call me with the info.

so i really don't know a whole lot, but he said the neurologist can even eval for adhd etc. so we'll see what he has to say. i do have to say from what i read on the site he has some great credentials.

It's good he's going to the neurologist.  It's more important than the CT scan at this point.  It would be worse to do the CT scan, have it show nothing, and then have them ignore what is going on because the CT was OK.

Good point. I just hope that they can help me and find out what is wrong with my little guy. We also found out he's lost 10 lbs since is physical back in Aug.  :(
