Hello everyone..
My daughter just began meds last month of her ADHD. She is in 1st grade and has a lot of difficulty staying in her seat, participating and completing assignments. We had a few problems with Ritalin so after 2 weeks, the doctor switched her to Adderall. My concern is dd allergies. She has terrible allergies in the spring and fall. While on Ritalin, her doctor told me I could give her any type of allergy medicine we wanted. I wasn't sure so I checked with a pharamist who also said the same thing. So we gave dd some Dimmetapp and within a half hour, she was freaking out and stripped all her clothes off. She wouldn't let my husband or I touch her and she was screaming that she feels crazy inside of her, what is happening, her skin was flushed. That was 2 weeks ago. Now she is on Adderall and again, her nose keeps running from allegries. I am petrified to give her anything, but last night, she barely slept as her running nose was bothering her too much. I feel so torn.
I know most would say to ask her doctor, but honestly, I don't trust him after what happend with the last cold medicine. Her doctor is a developmental pedetrian with Children's hosiptal, but yet he gave me bad advice and now I have a hard time trusting him with questions like this.
Has anyone else found a safe allergy medicine to use on their child while on stimulants like Adderall?

Claritin, not Claritin D regular Claritin is safe. Claritin and Benadryl are the only ones I have ever heard of being safe. Anything with a Decongestant is dangerous, the Decongestant itself is a stimulant.
