my daughters teacher and i agree the she needs to be tested for it but when i went to the dr. they sent me some place that didn't test her . now the dr. it's up to the school and the school says it's up to the dr.......i don't know what to do i can't find anyone to test her i don't know who to contact...........if someone could help me i would appeciate it.        thanks yoyo         &n bsp;        Where are you?

Someone who lives in your area might be able to tell you where to get the child tested for all possible contingencies since no one really knows what's going on at this point.

Also, never assume the school is correct on WHY the child is bouncing about. They may be describing a behaviour but that doesn't mean they know why it occurs...

yoyo73,  How old is your daughter?  You may want  to find a psychologist,  they do the testing. Usually they are affiliated with a Behavioral Health Service, or Mental Health, I just got the yellow pages out and started calling to see how soon I could get my daughter in, and who took her insurance, and if they did the testing, of course he was a reputable Dr. but finally after two years of going by what the Psychiatrist said and numerous medications we had a diagnosis and my daughter not only has ADHD but Bipolar as well. You have to be the go getter, I have found others take their good old time , especially with all the paper work they do before they get anything done, and I and my daughter needed help yesterday. Don't let the school and the doctor throw this back and forth, Find a Psychologist and a Psychiatrist and then you will know for sure what is going on. Call your local Behavioral Health. I wish you Luck and Please don't give up.   Stil Frustrated

Places for diagnosis include psychiatrist, psychologist (can even go to an educational psychologist for weeding out any suspected learning disorders), neurophsychiatrist, pediatric developmental speciallist. Call your pediatrician and rattle some cages. Get pushy.I believe that because the potential screening for ADHD is covered by the American Disabliiltes Act- your child's school is absolutely responsible for providing/arranging for testing.  I am sure if you had someone at the school look into this, they would begin working on it right away.  Good Luck!
