Work problems | ADHD Information

I tend to have problems with jobs and co workers too. I used to work as a homecare provider for disabled people and elderly. I found I couldn't do this because I was bored and couldn't go anywhere when I wanted to. (I was not on amy medication for ADHD) Since I changed jobs to something I really love, and enjoy my co workers, plus am back on my medication I seem to be doing well. Still get into trouble a bit, but my boss's know about my ADHD and work with me with it.

I would say in your situation I would personally find what interests you which sounds like you may have then I would look for a place that I wanted to work. Personally it sounds like in the job setting you are in right now you don't want to be there. You can't be happy or enjoy what you do if you don't want to be there.

Just my opinion. I hope it helps.

Every time I come to this website it's because I'm having problems at work.  I've moved away from Texas and now live in the Northeast (my hometown actually) and I'm working in a big city.  I've been at my job about 3 months and I find myself restless.  I dislike a lot of the people "in charge" and seem to get depressed about working here sometimes.  I want to change jobs already.

I'm getting tired of this pattern.  I just want to find a job I will like, but I bet you all are going to say it's me.  right?

You're in the wrong job right now. You need something with movement from the sounds of it.

I've been a teacher, I've worked retail, and now I'm a mailroom coordinator/fulfillment assistant at a book publisher.

Is there anyway to MAKE the job exciting? Say, offer to run errands so you can get out and look around the neighbourhood? If you are co-ordinating, can you think of a BETTER way things could be done there?

You might have liked retail because customers are different all day long, you can wander around the store a bit, you worked with interesting people--WHY did you like it--ALL the reasons, not just the short hours?

I liked retial the best, I think, because I only worked 6 hours a day and got off at noon.  Easiest way to forget about work :)

Now I work 8.30-4.30, but I have a 2 hour commute each way -- bah!

The commute sux. Can you get a hobby [like art or something] to keep you occupied while sitting there?

And, I'm just tired of the boredom!  What do I do to make it stop?  I want to be satisfied with my job, but I don't know how to be ... I want to stop hating all women I work with over 50

Hey--women over 50 could tell ya great funny tales if they trust ya and you like them

lol ... I'm 24 by the way, graduated from a seven sister's school in 2005 ... so I'm not old enough to be bitter and I"m too smart to be this annoyed at work.  Any advice? :)

Besides, 'get another job'?

What can you do to make this job MORE interesting? I don't have much detail here...
