	Need quick answers for adderal My son is on 20 mlg of adderal xr and 10 mlg of regualr adderal,,he also at night takes 50 mlg of trazadone ( 2years now) and 2 mlg of Clonodine (2 years) my problem is since we started the adderal he has been having major meltdowns every night were he is crying and saying he hates his life,,wishes he wasnt here,, wants a new family,, etc,,always ending with a half hour of crying how sorry he is and he doesnt mean to do or say what he is saying and he keeps telling me what he is doing is making him hurt inside...He has been taking this for 7 weeks now,,before that he took ritalin and concerta,, I knew they stopped working because of the way he was acting out again,,but this is nuts,,,is anyone dealing with this or has dealt with it,,,Iam going to stop it but wanted to see if anyone elses child went through this.. Lisadc3, this is called rebound or crashing. For my son it got so bad we stopped & switched to Strattera. Do a search on this board for rebound & you will find you are not alone. What I am confused about is why both regular & extended release Adderall? The 25 and 30 release was too much and the 20 wasnt enough so to try and balance him they added a 10 reg to get him through school...we tried strattera and he did nothing but sit there and swear his head off not even knowing he was doing it,,Catholic school here, we couldnt have that,, My son takes a combination of Adderall XR and Strattera for the same problem you described. the 10 mg wasn't enough and the 15 was to much. I don't know about the swearing problem but maybe with a lower dose of both things might work. This combination also seemed to have a real effect on my sons rebound or crashing when the adderall wore off in the evening. He also takes Lexapro 10 mg at bedtime for OCD and Anxiety. I personally take 20 mg of Adderall XR in the morning then add a dose of regular Adderall 10 mg at about 4:00 PM to get me through the evening.
