daytrana building up tolerance. | ADHD Information

maniax, I havent had this happen, just wanted to send some support.  How old is your son?

he just turned 7 this month. I think we both cried ourselves to sleep. and have puffy eyes this morning.

I am calling the doc today. I just want my little guy to be happy and not so angry. The owner from his daycare suggested ODD I dont even know what that is except for what I have read on here. I'll look more into it when my eyes stop burning.

Aderall xr made my son angry. The teacher told me he got into the other kids face during school. Real bad med for ds.

We happened to be in the pediatricians office for the doc to see. Aderall xr was stopped immediately.

Call the doc today, there is another med better for your son!

good luck, It seems strange he did so well for that many months and is now haivng this effect. Is this how he was pre meds? Usually if it's tolerance symptoms return. Could be anxiety though. Anxiety comes out in all sorts of ways.It sounds like Daytrana is not the right med. Does he have a comorbid disorder? Have you considered Bi Polar?

My ds is on 20 mg of daytrana  for adhd and  the last 2 weeks we have had everything we can do to be near him. He started this dose in May 2007 and it has been wonderful until now.

He is completley defiant, angry, mad, he wont look you in the eye, is always saying shut up/I hate you He got asked to leave tae kwon do for the first time ever because of his attitude he has been in it since he was 2. I  was hoping this was just a faze but thats not looking good. Tonight I tried to call the doc, he is teaching a class and wont be available until tomorrow.

honestly had anyone else had this happen. we tried adderal and he started throwing objects the first week then we went to daytrana  this has started after a great 5 months with the patch

what does everyone think has he built up a tolerance or is he starting something new. He is also on clonidine to help him sleep which is great he falls asleep in 15-20 minutes but I cant say I would give it to him in the a.m. he would fall asleep before the bus even got here.

Mornings are hell, emails every day the last two weeks from the teacher all he wants to do is argue and now daddy and I are argueing I had to ask someone before I start smoking again.

I did check every post I could find but this subject wasnt there.

any ideas please
