Also, you are 18 and an adult.  You don't need your parent's permission anymore.

If you are still living at home I can imagine how tough it is.  Can you talk with someone - even maybe the guidance councelor of your highschool?

You can also see any Dr. and under a multitude of laws regarding client confidentiality, your parents will never find out.

Good luck and please don't take drugs illegally - even if you think they help you.  You are only setting yourself up for more problems.

Let's slow this puppy down, shall we?

The first thing to do is get a full physical check up. That rules out any physical reasons why you're struggling that might be underlying.

The next thing to do is talk with someone if there have been many major changes in your life the past while.

After those possibilities are ruled out get a full assessment. That can tell you not only possible learning disorders such as ADHD but whether or not you have bi-polar, depression or something else that is causing inattention or ADHD + something else going on.

Do you want to go to boot camp?


Can't you tell them that you are an adult at 18 and make your own appointment?

Kyle, I would seek a professional diagnosis. Then you know for sure. It "sounds" like it! But I am not a doctor, just a mother of an ADHD husband, son, and possible daughter.

You mention how adderall helped you think. Well it sounds like meds will help you. It truly saved my boy's life!!

I don't know if it is true about the military and ADHD? you may want to check into that since you say you are going into the military!

thanks the only problem is i cant get my parents to let me get tested they dont belive in adhd they belive that meds dont cure anything and that adhd is just a excuse for kids that need to get some disipline in there life
