Sleeping problems | ADHD Information

My 9 year old sleeps the best after his soccer practices!Does anyone here still have trouble sleeping when you take Ritalin or other stimulants?well i have never been diagnossed with adhd but i have takin adderall it tends to clear my mind and whatnot and whenever i took it i would have trouble sleeping because i always felt like cleaning or working on homerwork or doin somthing creative i dont know if this would help you or not

I have always had trouble sleeping, whether I take Ritalin or not.

So Doc's 'scribed Ambien for the last 10 years.

5 or 10 mg every night.

Rarely, none.

I've only taken Focalin XR and now Vyvanse as far as stimulant meds go. Focalin XR I did not have a problem with sleeping. Vyvanse I do have a problem with it. I'm still working out my dosage on that too.

Melatonin usually works well but the other night I was not able to sleep until 4am! Which ended up with me not taking my meds yesterday because I didn't want to be up all night again last night. Then I ended up having to take some Benedryl (having ear aches too) to help with my ears and to help me sleep. Finally slept last night. Vicious cycle I tell ya!
I have trouble sleeping every nite meds or not. So does my son 9 ADHD and anxiety. We both take Melatonin to get to sleep. His works fast and all night mine works fast but I still need many sleeping pills to get through the night and I still don't really sleep good. The stims made a difference with my son though and the Melatonin helped alot.
