He sounds impulsive and probably angry, even depressed, because he is hurting himself inside. I am sure he has been labeled the "bad boy" in school all these years, when he simply can't help himself. My son is ADHHHD very impulsive and hyper. Until we began meds, even though he had been diagnosed several years earlier, he was the one getting in trouble in school and being labeled. he always did well academically, but his impulsiveness got in his way. He simply couldn't control it. The teacher said he literally didn't know he did it until AFTER and someone complained. So there was no prethinking about it beforehand! And the labeling, Once we began the meds, everything changed! All the impulsiveness stopped and he was now the one doing what was asked of him, and expected. My son is now 10. I would begin with the evaluation, and see if he is diagnosed, there is help out there for him. And you don't want him in trouble with the police. He is getting older and that could happen! Please post any updates!! im a mother of a 11 year old boy who since the agw over just 1 year old has had behvarial issuse he has been exculded from school 15 times to date hes turned violente and started lashing out at teachers and not doing what hwes told both at school and at home [/QUOTE]he swaers constally using inaprioite lanuage and disurubting class and hes sisters when at home hes never listens and is really behind in his school work he sweals and wont sit still he thinks that hes the boss in the house and at school and that no one can tell him what to do he has been assaded for adhd before and was told that he does not have it but this has been goign on for nearly 10 years and its getting worse i wa stold he could have odd opistianl defint disorder but the school disagree The school is in no legal, moral or medical position to make a diagnosis. Get a full assessment for this child, starting with a physical. and that its a behavier that hes grew with and cant get out off when i was pregant with my son i was told that he had spina bindia and had a small hole in his spine and also he had one kidney bigger than the other when he was born his left lung was full of fulied he was scaned and that there was no hole in his spine at 7 weeks old he got bronoclitsis and stoped breathing 7 times and was in icu for weeks he got home and was fine untill he was 15 months old not ling after he had his mmr jab he took unwell one night woke up screaming in pain and was ent to hospital were they foound that he had intercecption of the large intestine and had to be operated on i found that his behaiour changed not long after this and has esculted for years he now has cronich asthma also a few months ago he was away to an asthma camp and was out surfing when he was found slumped on his shurf board unconistise and he stoped breathing he was takin to hosptial and no one was sure what was the cause there have been a few test done when he was in and was found to have a slow heart beat and that he may have took a fit at the time this is ongoing at he moment and waiting on test results over the last 2 months hes hardly been at school becauses of his behavirol issuses and has been very verbally arsive at home im so tired and fustrated scoial services have became involded to and im at my wits end could this be adhd or oppistnal deffient discorder This kid has a number of physical struggles going on. This can also add to his problems because may be feeling traumatized by the medical procedures he has to undergo, plus the stress of worrying about his health concerns. I'm going to assume you worry about his physical well-being, too. He needs a full physical assessment. If that pans out then get him assessed for mental health. Nobody can "diagnosis" him except for the medical profession. I will say, there is certainly something going on here but without that assessment, you and I will be guessing. And your son doesn't need our guesses--he needs to get support for whatever mental health struggle he's encountering and the proper treatment for it ![]() It CAN be better ![]() sorry about my spelling [get firefox, it's free and comes with spellcheck ]Hurtmom, Any updates on your son and how things are going? Have you had him evaluated? It could be so many things. I would start with a pedicatric neurologist. They can also advise you of any medical issues and find the right medical doctors, I would hope! I would definetly call and schedule an appointment! Please update us on how your son is doing!! |
