ritalin does it work? | ADHD Information

Ritalin has been around in on form or another for 60 years. It has the reputation of working in 75% of all ADHD cases in on form or another. It comes anywhere from 3-4 hours to 12 hours time release. Many children do good on that, Concerta a 12 hour time release. Some kids eat some don't eat during the day but pig out during and after dinner. Overall Most kids tolerate some form or another well. That is without co-exsisting conditions. that can affect the outcome differently depending on the condition.. My son 9, was given Focalin XR a cleaner, milder extended release form of Ritalin, and actually ate better than before the med. It makes him a kinder more tolerable human being. And it helps his anxiety and his self esteem. JUST ALL MY OPINIONmy daughter has been on strattera before .Iam interested to know what a typical day  like for kids on ritalin.Do they eat?do they sleep?Is it apparent when they are coming off of it?i havent treally heard to much negative things about this drug in the last 25 years. Does it work?

My DD takes Concerta, which is Methylphenidate, the same med in Ritalin. She eats, she sleeps, she is her normal happy self. She CAN concentrate in school now, the only difference we see in her. SOme people react differently to different meds, they are not all the same for everyone, and you may have to try more than one, more than 5 before finsing the right one.

Why did your DD stop Straterra?
