I'm currently on 70mg a day, but 60mg (2 x 30mg pills) worked the best for me, but my doctor and I are having to appeal with my insurance company before they will cover the 60mg cost. I am 29 yo female. I was newly diagnosed about 6-7 weeks ago and Vyvanse is the only med I've been on for my ADHD. It has been working amazingly well with few side effects for me.

My son is currently on 50 mg. We started at 20 mg, as part of a Shire study. 20 was definitely too low. We left the study and went to 30 mg for two months. My son has entered puberty and in a major growth spurt so we have gone to 50 mg which is working quite well for him.Dd is 6 and on the 30 mg. It is working great except for difficulty falling alseep. I think this medicine is lasting 15-16 hours for her. I have heard of a few people that open the cap and do 1/2-3/4 the dose to start(with kids) then ramp up if needed. Just what I've heard.30 mg.I started at 30 for 1 wk, jumped to 60 probably too much too soon (headaches, dry eyes, anxiety), so backed off to 50 for 2 wks, now back up to 60 (splitting some 30 into 1/3 and adding to my 50's, not having headaches or dry eyes) I'm going to continue for a total of 9 days then up the dosage to 70.
