emergency question? | ADHD Information

The pharmacy gave us a prescription of"methylin" for my 4 year old son.Its a mistake as he normally takes ritalin la. The difference is la is time released correct?Is the methylin also time released or not?He usually takes a capsule and this methlin is a tablet.I gave it to him this morning and he seems to be very much more emotional.both are 10mg.Please any information will help.The pharmacy is closed for Thansgiving.Thanks   shanecorrection they are both 20mg
I have a student who is on 18mg of concerta. She has been taking it since September 2004. She is experiencin vision loss. Papliedema is one possible diagnosis and the physicians are also looking into concerta as having a side effect. Is this possible? Could concerta cause this?

You should have called your doctor immediately if you were given the wrong med. If he's usually on ritalin and ritalin works then why change. Besides I don't know any doctor that would not tell you if they were changing the meds. Marco.......Ritlan La is an extended delivery capsule form of methylphenidate which gives 8 hours of coverage. Then there is Methylin and also MethlinER. Methylin without the ER is comparable to short acting ritilan. I hope this helps.
