I feel the need to vent so here it goes:
1. We go to the new psychiatrist on Monday after school, Although he will just do an intake since my DS won't take his ADHD meds he will hopefully deal with the anxiety and depression issues and medicate him for that at least. I have no info on this guy except he is on my insurance and our ped doc(very popular) says he reccomends him. He will also give us a list of about 25 Psychologist in the area some of which are on our plan. I now have to start calling around town for info. This is going to be the hard part. He is with a WONDERPFUL psychologist now doing play therapy and some other cognitive things.How long does this usually last? But, the goal was to take the meds and he is nowhere near that point. My son and I have discussed that part. I think changing over to an Insurance person will be hard at first but hopefully he will adjust. I just need a young male who does ADHD and anxiety and is paid for. Not too much to ask for eh?
2. I haven't slept past 1:30 am all week. I am taking extra meds I should't be taking. The one he upped, is doing nothing. I need to be knocked out and have tried just about every sleeping pill. If somebody knows of something that will knock me out but let me function at day let me know. I took zyprexa, a schizophrenia med and 1/4 pill had me out for the night but I was a babbling idiot the next day. can't have that.
3. My mom is back from her 3 week vacation and feels the need to tell me everything I am doing wrong with my son. I ignore her most of the time but It does upset me.
O.k. thanks for the vent and rant let's hope the new doc puts us on a better direction.
Benadryl is fine with stims. It can "hype you up". Not me, puts me out cold. My mother wont take it. She can, however, take Tylenol PM. Which is just Benadryl and Tylenol. Obviously different release or whatever and works for her, might be worth a shot. Like all the prescription meds different release or different compound of same med have different effect.For some reason Benadryl Hypes us both up big time. We have used Delsym cough syrup in the past but I am not sure about long term.(past 1 or 2 days)I'm sure somewhere I read this but I'm sure I read not to mix antihistimines with stimulant medication, if thats the type of meds your using you may want to research this and ensure its not correct before trying Benadryl

Have you asked your doctor for the free sample of Rozerum? I tried it and didn't feel groggy at all the next day. They are pushing the one week free trial all over the place. Maybe I will try although I'm not sure it is strong enough as I take Melatonin already and it doesn't help keep me asleep.Try Valerian (an herbal medication). They use it a lot in Europe in good-night teas. You can get it in pill form, too. That stuff knocks me right out.
