Hi. My son was diagnosed with ADHD last month. I pretty much knew he had it since he was around 3 years. He had ALOT of problems in school last year but we worked through them with trying differant things in the class-room. This year at school the teachers and staff pretty much forced me to medicate him. I honestly didn't want to have to medicate him because I was extremely afraid of the medicine and it's side effects. But after taking him to his PED yesterday and getting a blood test and his heart checked I decided to give it a try this morning.
I have noticed that he acts very sleepy. Not really sleepy more like umm... quiet in a not quiet way. I don't know how to explain it. He hasn't faught his little brother 1 time today. Usually by this hour I would have been pulling my hair out and almost crying. I haven't had to call his name down for doing something wrong 1 time so far. I honestly can't believe this. I don't know what to think.
So far he is having some side effects. He is asking ALOT of questions. Like 100 questions so far today. But in a quiet polite way. We went out to eat and parked in the car because it is to cold to get out and eat and we didn't have to call him down not 1 time in the car. (This is the time we have the MOST trouble with him. (in the car) He got a paper football toy in his kid-meal that came with football player stickers that you can move on the paper to differant places. He has been playing with this thing for 2 solid hours now!!! Sooooo not like him. This thing would have been thrown in the floor 2 hours ago!
Anyone know why he is asking so many questions though? Is it possible that his attention is a little TOO good? I mean.. 2 huors with a paper and stickers???? What should I look for tonight when the medicine wears off? Wow... I am kinda stunned.
He is taking Adderall XR 10 mg. Any info. would be great! Thank you!
