feeling stupid | ADHD Information
Hi all,
I am getting ready to leave for work and there are knots in my stomach and I am having anxiety attacks.
I just feel so stupid and ashamed at all the mistakes I make at work. People become angry and discusted and that just makes me make more mistakes. I am so weary and despondent and fed up with having ADHD.
Thanks
ernie
Having supervised on the job I just don't GET most bosses. I also had drug using peer staff with mental health problems at some places.
I found that instead of babbling--I give the person a task list [make your own if you must] to tick off.
Yes, it's time-consuming. But it's a lot less time consuming than correcting errors and misconceptions.
I can't tell you the amount of times I said I needed clarification in meetings and heads nodded all over the room because nobody got it, they just didn't have the guts to say it.
When you go to a meeting, or meet with your supervisor WRITE DOWN what you think they said and read it back. Not only will they be able to clarify--YOU will look like a shining pro because you cared enough to make sure you had clear directions.
On some jobs it's wise to put a piece of paper in your pocket and add what people ask you to do so you can get to it. It makes them feel heard, you remember everything and you'll miss less.
You aren't alone.
Lots of 'normies' frell up all the time. If you aren't understanding what you have to do--many of them don't either.
What's your job?
