First day of Daytrana | ADHD Information
Well it is almost 6 o'clock and my son is doing well. When I picked him up at school I asked the teacher how he did and she said that she really didn't see too much of a difference. Right now I see that there is a slight difference.
I took the patch off at 3:30 and we will see what time he goes to bed.
I will let you guys know how tonight is.
Hello everyone,
It is my ds first day on Daytrana. The first patch had to get thrown away couldn't remove the backing. Second one was perfect. I started him at 7:00am (about a half an hour ago). So far so good for the first half hour.
I was afraid that he was going to fight me and to try to take in off but he hasn't touched it.
I will keep you updated. I hope that this works better than the Dexidrine.
Thanks everyone for your support. It is greatly needed at times.
Anita
Anita, good luck! My daughter started Daytrana about 6 weeks ago. It takes a VERY long time to take effect (2 hours), and for her it took several weeks to get past some side effects, headache, a little nausea, but all of that passed and this med seems to be very smooth. Not a lot of rebound and for sure works for the whole day. While the medication is in her system her focus and attention have been terrific!Diane V,
Thanks for replying. I did read your previous post concerning your daughter and her experience with Daytrana. It was a great thread to read and very informative. My son is only 5 and I hope that this works better than the Dexidrine did. He was on that for a year, mainly gave it to him for school. He is in the afternoon preschool program at our district school. He seemed to be getting "used to" the Dexidrine and I don't think that it was working like it did in the beginning. I kept fighting in switching his meds but it came down to I didn't think I had a choice. His behavior has gotten worse over the last year and I am hoping it gets better.
I will be back on later to post how he did at school. I am glad that your daughter is doing good now. Time will tell if my son with be good.
Take care
Anita
