Vyvanse or Daytrana | ADHD Information

For those of you who have tried these, what are your opinions?  My son has been on focalin xr for 2 years.  We are now up to 1-15mg  xr in the morning and 1-15mg xr in the afternoon.  It's just not working as well as it did.  I would love to have an all day, ( I would really love 24 hour .) and not have to deal with the down times.

Thanks!

Well neither will give you 24 hour. Strattera would though.

We are using Daytrana, fairly successfully. The biggest struggle is mornings, because it takes 2 hours to start working. We do get 12 hours of coverage though. a lot of people do supplement with a regular release med first thing in the am to cross cover, my daughter cannot tolerate regular release meds though. We see the doctor next Friday so we'll make a decision from there.  She did have some side effects at first with Daytrana, although most have subsided. No sleep issues, but appetite suppression and some tics. We are seeing great symtpom relief while the medication is in her system though.

We have never used Vyvanse.
