organizational strategies

Hey,

29 ADHD, 50mg Vyvanse, currently 2 semesters away from getting teaching certification in secondary English/Special Ed.

So, this semester I learned a valuable lesson: I have to be organized from day one otherwise, it's an uphill battle come November/December.

I've had limited success with calenders and day planners; I've never used a PDA for fear that I'll get lazy with it. A friend suggested an iPhone as a feasible option (the fact that it is a phone increases the likelihood I'll remember to carry it).

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Well, whatever you decide on,

make sure you figure out how to use it.

I take notes and make appointments, but forget to back to them.

All the sticky notes on the fridge look alike, now.

I think what you're talking about isn't just schedules--it's getting term papers etc in on time.

I used to use a honkin' huge erasable 4 month wall calender with the deadlines marked in red and the task breakdowns in green. [Eg paper due Dec1. Research for paper Nov 22-23]

Don't worry about anyone thinking your lazy for using time tricks. Worry about what YOU want to accomplish

I'm getting one ASAP! I can back up my work life, home life and appointments. I can set alarms and email myself things if I need to, the only problem being I will look like one of those business men with nothing better to do than fiddle with their blackberrys! heh. Never mind.

I would agree, blckberry and whiteboards!!

I use a Treo 700w.   Any of the smart phone type devices (blackberry, iphone) etc would work.   My Treo is tough.  I've dropped it numerous times and it keeps on working.
