Only other parents of kids with ADHD can appreciate this, so I'm sharing it here.  I had my child's parent-teacher conference today, and she said that he's doing wonderful in every way -- academically, socially, and behaviorally!     My DH commented that hopefully it'll stay this way.  At conference time last year, we also were told that everything was great, but problems surfaced in December.  Unfortunately, on Focalin XR, ds did well for a few months, and then things would go haywire.  We'd adjust the dose, and then he'd be OK again --- for awhile, anyway.  Unfortunately, the bad times would cause lingering damage with peers and with school administration's attitude toward ds.  I'm hoping that won't happen with Metadate CD, but only time will tell.  In the meantime, I'm savoring this wonderful moment that he's doing so well.  Thank goodness that I pushed 1-1/2 years ago for private ADHD testing.  I had two schools telling me that he didn't have ADHD, but I knew he did (he went to 1/2 day kindergarten and then a 1/2 day enrichment program at a different location).  Being on medicine has turned my child's life around, all for the better!  Frankly, it's greatly improved the lives of everyone living in our house.  Actually, it's also improved the lives of people not living in our house, for he now has better relationships with his grandparents, with other kids in the neighborhood, etc.

I wish you guys could see my smile!

Congratulations to you all, as you, your DH and especially your son deserve it, it takes so much work. good for him.

Terrific.

It is wonderful when things come together. Good work.

I know too  well what your talking about, it's day 10 for my little 7 yr old on Straterra. She has problems controlling anger.  Not thinking before she reacts. Things have gotten so much better. But yesterday there was an incident where she kicked the TV over in the class.  All because someone wouldn't leave her alone. She said, "mom they just wouldn't stop".  I hope I don't have to adjust, yesterday was her first 25mg's on Straterra and they work them up to target so I'm thinking her body just needs to adjust(I hope).  They started with the 10 3days, 18 3 days, then the 25mg's to stay on.  CONGRATS TO YOU AND YOUR SON!!! HOPE HE CONTINUES TO PROGRESS.  LET US KNOW.

I am so happy for you!  I'll keep you in my prayers.

SO happy for you!!!! I love to read success stories.  Your post made me smile.

I wish you continued success.

Congratulations!  Thanks for sharing - it is great to hear when something is going well.  As parents of ADHD kids we have to take the time to celebrate the good because we deal with so much frustration.  I hope you are planning to celebrate.
