For those of you who have had some success with Strattera, how long did it take, once you reached the correct dose, to see a difference? Also, how many of you/your children still have to take another medicine (ie. stimulant) with it?
I'm trying to figure out where I am with my DS.
Thanks!
My daughter has had good success with just Straterra alone. However, she still has a little bit of aggresiveness and control with getting upset. But it is only da 13 on the med. So far so good!!
Well she is going on week 3 of the Srat. Still having issues with anger, frustration and aggresiveness; as far as her controlling it. maybe when we go to the Physch and he does the testing we will see what these drawn out emotions are with her. We have to sit her down and really, really talk to her to get her to calm down. Yesterday evening we came home and as always she wants to run out right away to play with the neighbor girl. She went over there and the little girl's brother came to the door and said i don't know if she can play and shut the door. Boy, did that crush my daughter. I think that some of the kids either in school or the neighborhood have issues with her due to the above problems I stated she has. What do I do to make her feel better? We literally had to have a deep talk with her to get her to see that not everyone will always like you. My fiancee even told her that some people don't like him either and that made her feel better. I am somewhat of a constant reminding mother on everything she needs to do. Could that be making her ADHD worse? My fiancee says sometimes he feels like I attack her constantly, with issues like, brush your teeth, hurry up we have to go, get dressed, take a shower, etc..... Could me being such a energetic person be making her symptoms worse? And that I'm consistent with her getting things done in time so we are not late. Please I need advice.

It took us about 4 weeks, the good thing is if for some reason she doesn't get her pill before bed we can give it to her in the morning and not see big withdrawels like with some other short term meds, this is because it stays in the system longer. OUr 7 year old is taking strattera and it has worked great we have seen a big improvement in her behaiver. This is the only drug she takes.
