how about no medication???  Is there a reason why you want to take medications now?  Is it for work?  If you've made it up to this point without medication, you may not need it.

just doing a survey of what others take and like and have had sucess with???

in search of something else instead of strattera.  i am scared to death though of stims as i use to do speed and acid when i was young, i am 47 now.

i tend to also titrate my own meds up or down so that is probably not good either and i am afraid that if i try a stim, that i may think if i feel  this good on this lower dose think  how much better i may feel at a higher dose!!

not to get high but just to feel better so not so sure i trust myself on stims...wish i could find a natural remedy that works!

i have been on NO medication my whole life, i am 47, and have the worst job record EVER!!!  i am to start a new job at target on friday and am already scared that i am going to ruin it within a few months just like everything else in my life that i have ruined!!!

i finally got some sleep after three days of strattera 10 mgs and today i feel pretty good so am contenplating sticking with it but probably wont.....

Hi jammieilieana,

I have a horrible work history also.  I never took meds all my life before my present job, which is about a year. (I am now 48)  I wish I had taken them sooner, I know I could not stay on this job without them!  I still have alot of trouble with the current job, staying on task and keeping in one area for periods of time.  But prior to the meds I wouldn't stand a chance!  But I fought the Drs and Pychs about getting on meds.  When I finally decided I had to do something I decided to listen to the Drs and I am glad I did.  I now understand alot I why I do what I do.  As long as your under med supervision and do not self medicate, I would try the meds.  I have had great success with concerta/ ritalin combo.

Good Luck

I have similar problems in my history. I am currently using Concerta and I do not have a problem sticking to my prescribed dosage. The effects are more stable and consistant than some other things you may have tried from less controlled sources.

I think that a combination of medication, execise, diet, and therapy or coaching obviously works best. Diet, exercise, and medications will produce almost instant imrpovement. Coaching or counseling can help you to construct your life so that it is more "ADD-Friendly".
