thank you for replying she hasnt started taking meds yet we are going back to docs on the 30th  he gave me a list of meds ritilan is one but he will decide when we meet in two weeks the school are giving her learning support and hopefully resource hours once the doc writes to them I understand how hard it is to make the decision on weather to put your child on medicine we ended up putting my son and daughter both on medicine and it has helped us out alot and their grades are doing wonderful.  But it is to each his own because every child/person is very different.  What has worked for my son has not worked for my daughter so just hang in there and do what you think is best for your child.hi my daughter has just been diagnosed with adhd shes 9 and the docs want to start her on medication to help her with concentration because she is a year and a half behind in her school work and finds its very hard its frightening for both of us and new What medication are they trying?   I understand how frightening it can be for you as I just went through the same. What is the doctor recommending? My son is 9 also. He was given Focalin XR. We had very little side effects.

The marble thread by ogram (top thread of this forum) has a good behavior plan that can be used for home and school (we have done both with success).

Does Ireland have special help for kids with learning disabilities? There are many accomodations that can be made in school to help these kids.
