This isn't much, but maybe it could help: I've read that people who have a hard time getting up should invest in a natural-sun clock, meant for seasonal affective disorder. The clock begins illuminating with natural wave-length light, so you feel like the sun is waking you up. I'm sure I messed up that terminology, but you get the idea. I don't know if this would help, just a thought. BPQW39402.5216782407

oh how I hate mornings. I am home with my 11 year old and 8 year old (ADHD) and same thing.  fight to get dressed, fight to brush hair, etc. it takes me about 1 hour for him alone.  til I started something.  people might not agree but the stress it saves me from going to work late, angry, etc is well worth it to me.....

I challenge both my boys to who can get dressed the fastest.  If they both beat me, they each get $.25, if I beat them I get $.25 from both of them.

Nowthe rule is you have to be fully ready, shoes on, backpack in hand by door, etc.  I have to get a shower, get lights turned off, get dog out, etc.  so I have more to do but usually they win, for $.50 no fights, no yelling, no argueing between them.  well worth $.50 for me!!!

oh I tried the wake up 1 hour and he went back to bed and still a struggle to get ready.

Hi and welcome! Never worry about venting here.

My daughter is the SAME way. Although she is better than last year. I have noticed the times we are using a 24 hour med she's better, so Strattera may be a good option for you. Another oprion is using a fast acting pill early. So when you first wake her up she takes that (maybe 5 mg regular release Ritalin), by the time she gets up it's in her system. Then wait on the Vyvanse until she is walking out the door to school. the long acting meds generally take 1 1/2 hours or so to "kick in" and by then the regualr release will be coming out of her system.

I agree completely, my 9 year old son is the same way. Also have you talked to the doc about the Vyvance aggravating her? if this is happening after the meds kick in it could mean a dosing problem.

This is my first post so please forgive me for it being a vent.
