I was just diagnosed with ADD and prescribed Adderal, It makes my heart beat hard and sometimes fast. I am scared to take it? Was anyone else like this, and any advice?

I'm scared of Adderall too- but it does really work for focus/executive functioning. I have a scrip and take it only rarely. I should probably take it more often...I liked ritalin. I was taking 120MG just before I left for work in the morning. When I first started taking it just 5MG would give me the jitters but they went away after a few days. After I was diagnosed with Bi-Polar depression I was placed on Lamictal. Lamictal really helped my Adult ADD and I dropped down to just 20MG of Ritalin just before I leave for work. I can only stand about 4 houirs behind a computer in a cubical that's why I take it in the morning. When I was on the 120MG of Ritalin drinking coffee felt like I was on valium when I drank it. The stronger the better. I think more people with Adult ADD should be allowed to try Lamictal. I feel so much better I am teaching myself a New Cad Drafting Software program and I am picking it up faster than when I was on just Ritalin. Can you take a smaller dose of your medication and then incerase it later?
