My daughter has been having stomach problems for a couple of weeks now. I think she is having sever anxiety. We flew from Florida to home yesterday and she was paralzed with anxiety. She was lethargic, couldn't eat, and felt like she was going to throw up. My mom put some perfume on her stuffed animal for her to sniff and she kept that thing stuck to her nose all of yesterday and now today. We couldn't get her to eat when we got home. She had an anxiety attack and her heart rate was more rapid than normal. Everyone keeps blaming the Stratttera (people not very familiar with it). Two Pedi's told me they didn't think it was the Stratteraa and to keep her on it. My husband is insisting I take her off today. I don't know what to do!
Thanks in advance, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
well, one of the side effects is stomachaches so that could very much be related to the Strattera. My daughter started Strattera a little over a week ago. I think she is having some appetite suppression too, not like with stimulants, but not like no meds either. She is also pretty "quiet, tired" definitley NOT anxious. Actually this is the calmest I've ever seen her. She is an anxious kid anyway who is VERY anxious on stims, we are not seeing that at all with the Strattera. I do think she's quieter, but wouldnt say lethargic. Worth a call to the docotr on Monday I would say.It sounds to me like she is missing Grandma, is it possible the perfume and stuffed animal is causing the problems? Or the flight? Just the traveling in general?
What is her dose, and what is her weight?

oh we're waiting, we're very happy so far. It has take all her fidgetyness(made that word up) away, she is quite calm and not so silly.
I do think hissmom should call the doc though, may not be her meds, but she sounds sick
We went to the pedi today. She was very concerned that she was dehydrated and had a rapid heart rate. They sent us to the ER for test. The ER didn't seem to think it was a big deal. They did draw blood and checked her for liver and thyroid problems (just to appease us). Everything came back normal. They sent us home and she still wont eat. They don't seem to think this is a problem. She has only eaten about 5 animal crackers and 5 pieces of Dorito Snack mix today. The official diagnosis was "Anxiety". They said that the Strattera was probably the cause, yet they also said they didn't know enough about it to tell me how to get her off of it. They suggested I keep giving it to her and consult with her pedi on Monday. How ridiculous is that. First they tell me it's making her sick, then they tell me to keep giving it to her!!!!! We didn't give it to her this morning becuase I wanted to wait until after she saw the doctor. By the time we got home at 7:30pm she was crying over everything. I gave her 18 mg and she seems to be feeling better.
