There is no way for anyone to tell you what med will work or not work, will case or not cause side effects unfortuanately. It is all about trial and error. Compounded with your co-existing BP, it gets even trickier. My thought is you should get the BP under control, then you can start adding ADHD meds from there. You are going to need the psych for this though, even if it means paying out of pocket. You need it to be some one with good psych med experience.  In my opinion it doesnt sound like Focalin is doing the trick and another med would be worth pursuing, unfortunately there is no way to predcit ahead of time what the right choice will be.
